Amazon KDP pays 35% or 70% royalties on Kindle eBooks and 50–60% minus printing costs on paperbacks (60% for books priced $9.99 and above, 50% for $9.98 and below). A $9.99 Kindle eBook earns $6.69 per sale at the 70% rate (after the $0.30 delivery cost on a 2 MB file). A $14.99 paperback (300 pages, black & white) earns approximately $4.39 per sale after the $4.60 printing cost. Hardcovers have higher printing costs but support higher list prices.
